Some key points:

• The College Park Police Department, Command Staff along with other members of the police department held a hiring board on April 30, 2024. The board recommended two (2) noncertified Police Officers for hire. These individuals will undergo an intensive background check. Once they meet all background and hiring guidelines, we look forward to them joining the College Park Police Department family.

• On April 27, 2024, at 0450 hours, College Park Fire Rescue & South Fulton Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire at 2135 Godby Road. Heavy fire was reported upon arrival. Fire crews kept the fire to the building of origin, but the building was considered a total loss due to the significant fire damage. No occupant or firefighter injuries were reported. Fire personnel provided resuscitative care to one (1) pet.

• Buildings and Grounds is assembling its new team of Litter Collectors and Park Attendants. With guidance from the Superintendent and Supervisor, this team is learning the vital role they play in maintaining the city’s grounds. While we’ve successfully secured the required number of Litter Collectors, we’re still one Park Attendant short to complete our seasonal hiring. Interviews have been conducted, and Human Resources processing is underway.
